Acharming Victorian era pendant, modeled in 14k gold, with applied gold placer nuggets, fine multi-color-gold and platinum details, and an agate drop. The pendant’s central element is a swallow in flight. This bird has a sweet face, and he bears ribbons for nest-building! Our feathered friend hovers inside a curling, diamond-shaped, arts and crafts style frame, which is covered in tiny, natural gold nuggets. A long, tear-shaped, Montana agate hangs below this frame, dropping from a hook on the pendant’s reverse. The top of the pendant is equipped with a large "no-roll" bail. We especially love the many textures at work here— the hammered surface of the bird and his ribbons, the craggy texture of the gold nuggets, and the smooth, glassy quality of the agate. The bird’s striped, multi-color surface is echoed in the striped agate. These figural pieces, and their enduring symbolic gestures, really pull at our heartstrings!
